FAQs
Here are some of the questions we get asked frequently. If you don't find an answer to your question in this section, please contact us through our Get in Touch form.

Is there something that sets Loga Springs students apart from other students?
Students who have had the Loga Springs experience believe in themselves and in pursuing their own interests. Since they have aquired much of their knowledge through experiential learning, much of their ability to grasp new knowledge in higher academic settings comes naturally to them.

Do you accept scholarships?
Yes, we accept both McKay and Florida Tax scholarships. Information and application forms for these can be found here.

What is the application procedure?
We like to have each student meet the faculty and see the school first. After that there is a a three step interview process. First students and parents are encouraged to complete the application form. Then we arrange a meeting. Students complete an interest inventory and a math placement test. At that point we discuss what your child's individual education plan will be like.

Can my child be dual enrolled?
We allow dual enrollment after one year of study in our school. Students must also fulfill all of the requirements for community college admission. We have a matriculation agreement with Santa Fe College as well.

Can my child do individual study?
This is one facet of our school in which we take great pride. In order to get credit for individual study, students must complete a log and demonstrate mastery of the individual study content. Deadlines for independent projects are the second week of October and the second week of February. Students need to submit their logs, education plan, goal, process, and summary of materials used, and participate in three conferences with the supervising teacher to ensure completion.

What is your attendance policy?
We have a 180 days of instruction. Students are expected to come prepared and ready to learn daily.

What is your discipline policy?
Respect for others in class is paramount for creating a culture of learning. If there are any criticisms of a student, staff member, lesson plan, or assignment, the student with the complaint should wait till after class to discuss the matter directly with a teacher. Any concerns are to be aired privately. This is the most efficient use of class time. Students are expected to follow their teacher's directions the first time they are asked to do an academic task. The need to be directed a second time in completing the same task will result in a conference with the student, during which consequences for not following directions will be discussed or clarified. If the student needs to be given the same instructions a third time, we schedule a conference with his or her parents in order to determine what kind of consequences are most appropriate and likely to be effective. It is each student's responsibility to follow directions, listen, take turns, be polite and respectful of others at all times. See the Handbook (side panel opposite) for more information on our discipline policy.

Is there a dress code?
No. We expect students to wear clothes that are not distracting to others.

Do graduates of Loga Springs go to college?
Yes. A diploma from Loga Springs meets the high school graduation admission requirement of colleges and university the same as any high school diploma.

Do Loga Springs students score well on norm-referenced standardized tests?
Yes, our students generally score above the 86th percentile.
